Thank you

Thank you to those who supported last week’s Biggest Morning tea. We raised $100 on the day. A big thank you goes out to Amanda Mason from Mandy’s cakes and cupcakes for the most delicious cookies and to the ladies at the Grenfell Gunyah for the cakes and slices.

Reminder to everyone that you have 24/7 access to the library catalogue. Not only can you search for an item, but you can log into your account and renew your items. Access is via the library website https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/ Your User ID is your member number on your card B0….. and your password is your date of birth ddmmyy.

1,000 Books Before School

Encourage early literacy and a love of reading for your child. Parents can join children at any stage during the year. The program is for children aged from birth to starting kindergarten. The target of 1,000 books may seem huge but can easily be achieved in less than three years with little effort.

If the child attends Storytime at the Library or the Grenfell Pre-School & Long Day Care Centre, the books read will count towards the 1,000 total. Stories from The Story Box Library, BorrowBox and indyreads™ count as well. An investment of one book a day, three to four minutes is all that is necessary to open a child’s mind to a lifelong love of books and learning. Certificate presentations are held quarterly.

So, sign up your child to the program and a library membership today.

The next quarterly presentation will be held on Saturday 12 June at 10am. Get your completed logs into the library to be included in this presentation.

Story Box Library available 24/7

Story Box Library is a great streaming service for kids. This is an Australian product created for children to view stories by local authors and illustrators, being read aloud by fantastic, predominantly Australian and New Zealand, storytellers. Free access using your library card number. No password required. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/
