Final few days of the Second-hand toy sale and the kids book sale
The sale is being packed up in time for Library Week. There are only a few toys left for sale. There are some bikes, etc that are in the back office if anyone is interested. The kids book sale has lots to choose from. So please support the sale to support the library.
Get ready for Library Week in May
As always Library Week is held in May and this year is no different except that we are not in lock down this time. Instead of the normal Preschool Storytime on Wednesday 19 May we will be participating in National Simultaneous Storytime at 11am. This year the book Give me some space! by Philip Bunting will be read from the International Space Station by astronaut Dr Shannon Walker.
Then on Thursday 20 May at 11am we will be hosting the Biggest Morning Tea to raise funds for the Cancer Council.
Easter Colouring-in competition
Entries from the Easter colouring-in competition are now ready for collection from the library.

1,000 Books Before School
Encourage early literacy and a love of reading for your child. Parents can join children at any stage during the year. The program is for children aged from birth to starting kindergarten. The target of 1,000 books may seem huge but can easily be achieved in less than three years with little effort.
If the child attends Storytime at the Library or the Grenfell Pre-School & Long Day Care Centre, the books read will count towards the 1,000 total. Stories from The Story Box Library, BorrowBox and indyreads™ count as well. An investment of one book a day, three to four minutes is all that is necessary to open a child’s mind to a lifelong love of books and learning. Certificate presentations are held quarterly. The next presentation will be in June.
So, sign up your child to the program and a library membership today.

Story Box Library available 24/7
Story Box Library is a great streaming service for kids. This is an Australian product created for children to view stories by local authors and illustrators, being read aloud by fantastic, predominantly Australian and New Zealand, storytellers. Free access using your library card number. No password required. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/
