LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 12 April 2021

Congratulations to the winners and highly commended for the colouring-in competition

Congratulations to Jan Jones and Marie Rudd for winning the Tin Cupboard prize packs. Heather Walker, Nancy Logan and Tegan Dawes have all won highly commended certificates.

Thank you to everyone who entered. The decision was not an easy one as there were 51 entries. These are now all on display in the library for you to view.

Kid’s colouring-in competition

I have now launched an ANZAC Day colouring-in competition for the kids. Drop on into the library and pick up an entry or two. You can colour in the images using anything you like but you need to write your name and number on the back using a pencil. Entries will close at 4pm on Wednesday 21 April.

Week 2 of the School holidays

We are into week 2 of the school holidays. There is one kids’ movie left that will be held within the library, but bookings must be made prior to the sessions as there limited seats due to COVID-19 restrictions. Reminder that all children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

The movie is this Friday afternoon at 1.45pm for a 2pm start and will be Samsam. It is rated G and runs approximately 1 hour and 14 minutes.

If you are heading off on a road trip don’t forget that the library has lots of kids talking books in CD and Playaway formats. You can also preload your device with great kids eBooks and eAudiobooks from both BorrowBox and Indyreads. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/

Story Box Library available 24/7

Story Box Library is a great streaming service for kids. This is an Australian product created for children to view stories by local authors and illustrators, being read aloud by fantastic, predominantly Australian and New Zealand, storytellers. Free access using your library card number. No password required. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/

Second-hand toy sale and the kids book sale has returned

There are only a few toys left for sale. There are some bikes, etc that are in the back office if anyone is interested in. The kids book sale has retuned and there are lots to choose from. So please support the sale to support the library.

May movies will be a double header

Mark up your calendar for Saturday May 8 as there will be two movies shown. We have another family movie The Croods: a new age at 4pm and The Dry at the usual 8pm session. Bookings are required via the library.
