Last chance to grab an entry form for the colouring-in competition and return it by 4pm on Tuesday 6 April for judging. The prizes have been kindly sponsored by The Tin Cupboard. So, grab an entry or two and your colouring-in equipment and get colouring.

Easter and School holidays start this weekend

Reminder that the Library will be closed for this weekend for Easter, but the afterhours return chute will be available for those needing to return items.

School holidays also start with the Easter weekend. So far I have planned a couple of kids movies that will be held within the library, but bookings must be made prior to the sessions as there limited seats due to COVID-19 restrictions. Reminder that all children aged 10 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

If you are heading off on a road trip don’t forget that the library has lots of kids talking books in CD and Playaway formats. You can also preload your device with great kids eBooks and eAudiobooks from both BorrowBox and Indyreads. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/

Story Box Library available 24/7

Story Box Library is a great streaming service for kids. This is an Australian product created for children to view stories by local authors and illustrators, being read aloud by fantastic, predominantly Australian and New Zealand, storytellers. Free access using your library card number. No password required. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/

The next Saturday movie is a family movie on Saturday 10 April at 4pm

The movie will be The war with Grandpa starring Robert De Niro, Uma Thurman, Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour. This is rated PG. Synopsis: Peter and his grandpa used to be very close, but when Grandpa Jack moves in with the family, Peter is forced to give up his most prized possession: his bedroom. Peter will stop at nothing to get his room back, scheming with friends to devise a series of pranks to drive him out. However, grandpa doesn’t give up easily, and it turns into an all-out war between the two. Seats must be prebooked via the Library.

Second-hand toy sale and the kids book sale has returned

There are only a few toys left for sale. There are some bikes, etc that are in the back office if anyone is interested in. The kids book sale has retuned and there are lots to choose from. So please support the sale to support the library.
