LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 8 March 2021

Easter Colouring-in competition for Adults only

Calling out to all the Adult colouring-in people. This Easter the library is holding a colouring-in competition. Entries are to be collected from the Library and returned by 4pm on Tuesday 6 April for judging. The prizes have been kindly sponsored by The Tin Cupboard. So, grab an entry or two and your colouring-in equipment and get colouring.

Junior Book Club is on today

Junior Book Club is for kids in years 4, 5 and 6 once a month on a Wednesday at 5pm. The next session is today Wednesday 10 March.

The club is for all types of readers. Once a month we will meet to:

 discuss books that you are reading

 encourage you to select books that you normally wouldn’t choose

 encourage you to select books that you think are above your reading level

 recommend/swap books amongst the group

 and most importantly have fun

Please come and help me give the club a name.

PJ Storytime is on this Thursday 11 March

PJ Storytime is on this Thursday 11 March with the doors opening at 6.45pm for a 7pm start.

Presentation day for 1,000 Books before school program is this Saturday 13 March.

This Saturday is the next presentation day for those who have dropped in their completed reading logs at 10am.

Saturday night movie is this weekend

This Saturday night movie will be Never too late starring James Cromwell, Jacki Weaver and Shane Jacobson. This is rated M. Synopsis: A group of elderly people decide to break out of their retirement home but end up in unexpected and hilarious situations. Seats must be prebooked via the Library.

Second-hand toy sale

A second-hand toy sale is running now. Yes I am putting more toys out for you to borrow as well. This sale will enable me to update the collection and see properly what we have. So please support the sale to support the library.

Free online Author talks

The next free talk is with author Samuel Johnson talking about his new book Dear Mum on Thursday 25 Mar at 6.30pm. Bookings need to be made through Eventbrite. Further details can be found on the events section of the library Facebook page.

Story Box Library now available to be accessed in Library

Some people would have noticed the new TV that has been installed in the kids’ section of the library. We have hooked up the Story Box Library for you to utilise while in the library. Just ask next time you are visiting.

Options for eBooks & eAudiobooks

Are you aware that as a member you have free access to different platforms for eBooks and eAudiobooks? Don’t forget that for the kids we have free access to Story Box Library. More information is available on the library website at https://grenfellpubliclibrary.org.au/elibrary/
