1,000 Books before School
To the 1,000 books families who have registered. I am preparing for a presentation ceremony for those who have completed milestones since our last ceremony back in February. If you have completed your reading log please drop them into the library to ensure that your child receives their certificate(s). So, pencil in Saturday 21 November at 10am.
For those who haven’t registered their child it is never too late especially if they are attending the Grenfell Pre-School & Long Day Care Centre, the books read will count towards the 1,000-book total.
Book reviewers
From the recent collection survey there were a few comments about book reviews. If you are interested please let me know and we can organise these to be displayed within the library and on the library website.
Free online Author Talks
Thanks to the NSW Public Libraries Association and the coordinating committee made up of various librarians across the state we now have access to free online author talks. Bookings are required via the link on the event listing on the library Facebook page. So far there is Chris Hammer on Wednesday 14 October and Garth Nix on Tuesday 3 November. There will be more coming so keep an eye out for these in the events section of the library Facebook page and ensure that you book in early so that you don’t miss out.

Storytime will not be returning for a while, but you have free access to Story Box
Use it as a bedtime tale, a facilitator for discussion in the classroom, a complement to library Storytime, or a read aloud model – the choice is yours. No matter what the reason for your visit to Story Box Library, we help children journey to that most uniquely precious place, the wilds of their own imagination.
Our stories have been selected with children of pre-school and primary age in mind. Stories have been broken down into the following categories: Pre-school (3 – 5 years); Lower Primary (5 – 7 years); Middle Primary (8 – 10 years) and Upper Primary (10 – 12 years).
