LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 27 January 2020

The Summer Reading Bingo challenge finishes tomorrow (Thursday 30) at 5pm and the presentation morning is this Saturday 1 February at 10am.

Don’t forget those participating in the 1,000 books before school program that all completed forms need to be returned to the library by 5pm Friday 31 January to ensure that you receive your certificates at the presentation morning on Saturday 8 February at 10am.

The library is looking to expand the Casual Library Assistant (On Call) list. Position description is available upon request. Applications close at 5.00pm this Friday 31st January 2020. Further information can be found on the library website or Facebook page.

Only a few new magazine titles received this week and they include Better homes and gardens, National Geographic kids, 4×4 Australia, Tech Life Australia, Double Helix, Quilters Companion, Australian Woodsmith, Gardening Australia and Australian house & garden.

Some more kids’ books are available this week and they include Clancy of the overflow by Jackie French, Ella diaries: time to shine by Meredith Costain, In the jungle by Jo Joof, Thomas and the dinosaurs, The Queen of nothing by Holly Black, The Fowl twins by Eoin Colfer, The missing movie by Geronimo Stilton, Rocky Lobster: Rocky to the recue by Rove McManus, Puppy diary: A pawfect storm by Yvette Poshoglian and The girl, the dog and the writer in Lucerne by Katrina Nannestad.

There are new fiction titles available this week and they include A tailor-made bride by Karen Witemeyer, The Siberian dilemma by Martin Cruz Smith, Twisted 26 by Janet Evanovich, The rise of magicks by Nora Roberts, Legacy of ash by Matthew Ward, One moment by Linda Green, Kiss the girls and make them cry by Mary Higgins Clark, Final option by Clive Cussler, Island on the edge of the world by Deborah Rodriguez and Seniors’ stories volume 5.

Some great new DVD titles are now available and include Ad Astra, The heiresses, IT Chapter two, Robert the Bruce, The kitchen, Once upon a time in … Hollywood, Danger close, Angel has fallen, The angry birds 2 movie, Dora and the lost city of gold, Ride like a girl and The Good Karma Hospital series 1 – 3.

Lots of new nonfiction titles are now available and include A life on the line by Darren Hodge, Barty: Power and glory by Ron Reed, A sceptic’s search for meaning by Mike Willesee, Beating osteoporosis by Diana Moran, The sustainable diet by Scott Gooding, Adam Spencer’s numberland, Desserts and Comfort food.

Upcoming events to keep in mind are:

            Thursday 30 Jan 5pm. Summer Reading Bingo Challenge closes. All entry forms must be submitted to the library by 5pm.

            Friday 31 Jan 5pm. 1,000 Books before school program closes for first quarter presentation day. All completed forms must be submitted to the library by 5pm.

            Saturday 1 Feb 10am Summer Reading Bingo Challenge Presentation

            Wednesday 5 Feb Baby Bounce at 10.30am and Storytime at 11am.

            Saturday 8 Feb 10am 1,000 Books before school program Quarterly Presentation

            Saturday 8 Feb 7.45pm for an 8pm Start. Movie – Judy. Bookings for seats can be made via the Library. FOGL will have the candy bar open.
