LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 20 January 2020

This Friday at 10.30am there will be a Back to school Storytime and craft session for the kids. This session is free, but bookings are required for craft. There is no age limit.

There is one week left of the Summer Reading Bingo challenge. If you have completed the bingo sheet drop it into the library and pick up the extra reading sheet to earn extra tickets in the prize draw at the presentation morning on Saturday 1 February at 10am.

Don’t forget those participating in the 1,000 books before school program that all completed forms need to be returned to the library by 5pm Friday 31 January to ensure that you receive your certificates at the presentation morning on Saturday 8 February at 10am.

The library is looking to expand the Casual Library Assistant (On Call) list. Position description is available upon request. Applications close at 5.00pm Friday 31st January 2020. Further information can be found on the library website or Facebook page.

Only a few new magazine titles received this week and they include Better homes and gardens, National Geographic kids, 4×4 Australia and Tech Life Australia.

Some more kids’ books are available this week and they include The world book day monster by Adam & Charlotte Guillain, Peppa’s Australian underwater adventure, There’s a house inside my Mummy by Giles Andreae, A fair go and Genius juice by Pixel Kid, Funny bones by Australian authors, Diary of a wimpy kid: wrecking ball by Jeff Kinney, The beast of Buckingham Palace by David Walliams, Squidge Dibley destroys the galaxy by Mick Elliott and Funny kid kicks butt by Matt Stanton.

There are new fiction titles available this week and they include No mercy by Martina Cole, Into the dark by Karen Rose, The house of brides by Jane Cockram, The sun sister by Lucinda Riley, The last voyage of Mrs Henry Parker by Joanna Nell, In the lion’s den by Barbara Taylor Bradford, Spy by Danielle Steel, The good woman of Renmark by Darry Fraser, Warrior of the Altaii by Robert Jordan and Criss cross by James Patterson.

Some great new DVD titles are now available and include The wild Thornberry’s movie, Abominable, Little women, A dog’s journey, The Durrells series four, Catherine the great, Catch-22, The war of the worlds, World on fire, MotherFatherSon and Kursk.

Lots of new nonfiction titles are now available and include Top 100 taste summer fresh, The last bushrangers by Mike Munro, Wham! George & me by Andrew Ridgeley, The new manhood by Steve Biddulph, My life and rugby by Eddie Jones, Up the duff by Kaz Cooke, Taming teens by Anna Cohen, Walks in nature Australia by Lonely planet, Bob Hawke the complete biography by Blanche D’Alpuget and Tell me why by Archie Roach.

            Saturday 8 Feb 7.45pm for an 8pm Start. Movie – Judy. Bookings for seats can be made via the Library. FOGL will have the candy bar open.
