LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 25 November 2019

Are you organised for all of the end of year activities yet? The final two sessions of Storytime will be held the next week on Wednesday 4 and Friday 6 December where we will celebrate Christmas. Bookings are now being taken for the three Christmas card making sessions. These have limited places. $2 per child and bookings are required.

The Summer Reading Bingo challenge kicks off on Tuesday 3 December from 3pm for all kids who will be in Preschool through to Year 12 in 2020. Pop in after school and pick up your Bingo sheet and some books to get you reading.

Don’t forget that the Grenfell launch of the Dark Sky Dreamings book will be held in the library on Tuesday 3 December at 6.30pm where you will hear and meet the local contributors Gai Lander and Alison Rumps and editor Dr Merrill Findlay. Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the night. A light supper will be provided after proceedings for a gold coin.

There will also be three movies shown in December so book your seats for the Australian movie Palm Beach, the hit of the year Downton Abbey and for the kids there will be a surprise Christmas movie. All details are below in the events section or on the library Facebook page.

A number of new magazine titles received this week and they include 4×4 Australia, Better homes and gardens, Quilters companion, Australian Science Illustrated, Tech Life Australia, Gardening Australia, Australian House & Garden and Instyle.

Some more kids’ books are available this week and they include Atchoo! By Mij Kelly, Doing the animal bop by Jan Ormerod, Elmer’s walk by David McKee, Rise of the mythix: gold unicorn by Anh Do, The bad guys: the baddest day ever by Aaron Blabey, The Taylor turbochaser by David Baddiel, Beauty sleep by Kathryn Evans, My first word book: Let’s find; Let’s go!; Farm; Pets and colours, The unlisted and Rebellion by Justine Flynn and Pete the cat’s trip to the supermarket by Kimberly and James Dean.

This week’s new large print titles are now ready for loan and they include Marshal of the Barren Plains by IJ Parnham, From the vineyards of hell by Harry Jay Thorn, Watching you by Lisa Jewell, Feared by Lisa Scottoline, Hell hath no fury by Charles G West, Riders of the dawn by Louis L’Amour, Winchester quarantine by Carter Travis Young, The resurrection kid by TT Flynn, High desert by Wayne D Overholser and Wyoming winter by Diana Palmer.

There are new fiction titles available this week and they include Guns of ponderosa by Chuck Tyrell, Snake hunt by William Colt MacDonald, Confederate paydirt by Robert Anderson, Cimarron by Les Lewellyn, Gone to Texas by JD Ryder, Rough justice by Jackson Davis and Nothing ventured by Jeffrey Archer.
