LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 18 November 2019

Two of our own budding writers have been selected as contributors to the recently published book Dark Sky Dreamings. The Grenfell launch of the book will be held in the library on Tuesday 3 December at 6.30pm where you will hear and meet the local contributors Gai Lander and Alison Rumps and editor Dr Merrill Findlay. Copies of the book will be available for purchase on the night. A light supper will be provided after proceedings for a gold coin.

December is approaching fast and there are a number of kid’s activities coming up prior to the Christmas holidays. Our final two sessions of Storytime will be held the first week of December where we will celebrate Christmas. There will also be three Christmas card making sessions with limited places being held. $2 per child and bookings are required.

There will also be three movies shown in December so book your seats for the Australian movie Palm Beach, the hit of the year Downton Abbey and for the kids there will be a surprise Christmas movie. All details are below in the events section or on the library Facebook page.

A number of new magazine titles received this week and they include Organic gardener, National geographic kids, Australian geographic, Australian Women’s Weekly food and Australian Home beautiful.

By Anh Do, Tom Gates: extra special treats by Liz Pichon and The lords of Melody by Phillip Gwynne.  

This week’s new talking book titles are now ready for loan and they include Nantucket sisters by Nancy Thayer, The actress by Amy Sohn and for the kids we have Kitten kingdom by Mia Bell, Miff’s adventures big and small, The girl, the bear and the magic shoes by Julia Donaldson, The Daddy goose by Vivian French, The Stephen Michael King collection, Hotel Flamingo by Alex Milway, The Billie B Brown collection by Sally Rippin and Storm boy by Colin Thiele.

There are new fiction titles available this week and they include The shape of night by Tess Gerritsen, Killer instinct by James Patterson, Silver by Chris Hammer, To the land of long lost friends by Alexander McCall Smith, The fifth column by Andrew Gross, Guilty not guilty by Felix Francis, A tapestry of treason by Anne O’Brien, Matters of the heart by Fiona Palmer, The wife and the widow by Christian White, The model wife by Tricia Stringer, The second sleep by Robert Harris, Sword of kings by Bernard Cornwell and Pretty guilty women by Gina Lamanna.
