LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 3 June 2019

The Henry Lawson Festival is this Saturday 8 June. Australian children’s author Tim Harris will be at the front of the Hub between 10am and 12pm to sign books and to talk to children about his books.

Please note the Library will be closed for the Festival on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 June. No items will be due during this time.

On Saturday 22 June we have Australian author Amanda Hampson conducting a writing workshop between 10am and 1pm in the Hub. Places are limited so please ensure that you have booked and paid prior to the event. Open to all ages.

Some great new fiction titles are now available. Titles include Someone like you by Karly Lane, Pet sematary by Stephen King, The passage by Justin Cronin, The mister by EL James and China rich girlfriend by Kevin Kwan.

A few new magazine titles are available for loan and they include Better Homes and Gardens, RM Williams Outback, Marie Claire, NSW Fishing & boating, 4×4 Australia, Grass roots and Double helix.

A number of new talking book titles are available including the new Playaway collection that only need a headphones to listen to the story. Titles include Keep you close by Nora Roberts, Not the Duke’s darling by Elizabeth Hoyt, The chocolate makers wife by Karen Brooks, The chef by James Patterson, The department of sensitive crimes by Alexander McCall Smith, See you in the piazza by Frances Mayes, A treasury of animal stories by Holly Webb, The Stephen Michael King collection, Princess Luna and the festival of the winter moon by GM Berrow, Princess Celestia and the summer of Royal waves by GM Berrow and Rise of the dragons by Angie Sage.

A number of new nonfiction titles are available, and they include Dr Karl’s little book of space, Fosse by Sam Wasson, Elizabeth Macarthur by Michelle Scott Tucker, Barefoot in the bindis by Angela Wales, Rebel women who changed Australia by Susanna De Vries, Esther by Jessica North, Slowhand: the life and music of Eric Clapton by Philip Norman and The path made clear by Oprah Winfrey.

Some great new DVD titles are available for loan this week and they include Aquaman, Peter Rabbit: the unexpected discovery, Holmes & Watson, Anh’s brush with fame series 3, How to train your dragon: the hidden world, Thomas & friends: here comes the steam team, Call the midwife series 8, The growing pains of Adrian Mole, My generation, Fireman Sam: set for action, Sgt Stubby, Sesame Street: the magical wand chase, Elmo’s favourite stories, An education, Hostiles, Paw Patrol: pups save puplantis, The last tycoon, Sommersby, A kid like Jake and Sesame Street: the cookie thief.

Just a few new kids titles this week and they include There was an old bloke who swallowed a chook by P. Crumble, White stag by Kara Barriebi, Hokey pokey by Ed Allen and Can I cuddle the moon? By Kerry Brown.
