LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 13 May 2019

Library & Information Week is next week, and we will be hosting National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 22 and the Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday 23. So please support your library by attending or donating.

This week we launched the new puzzle collection. These puzzles range in size from 500 to 1000 pieces. They are available for loan which is great for this cold weather that is kicking in. The limit is 2 per card for 3 weeks. It is a small collection but there are more coming.

During the Henry Lawson Festival on Saturday 8 June at the front of the Hub between 10am and 12pm Australian children’s author Tim Harris will be available to sign books and to talk to children about his books.

On Saturday 22 June we have Australian author Amanda Hampson conducting a writing workshop between 10am and 1pm in the Hub. Places are limited so please ensure that you have booked and paid prior to the event. Open to all ages.

Please note that for the month of June there will be no movies shown due to the festival and other activities. Please keep an eye out for the July screenings that will be announced soon.

A few new magazine titles are available for loan and they include Tech life, Australian home beautiful, Marie Claire, Taste, Organic gardener and Australian Geographic.

A number of new nonfiction titles are available, and they include Untamed & unashamed by Pauline Hanson, Back from Africa by Corinne Hofmann, Get Parliament: how your federal parliament works, 501 low-fat recipes, Vegetarian basics, Super food family classics by Jamie Oliver, One handed cooks boosting your basics by Allie Gaunt, Cook it slow, Fish for farm dams by Ian Campbell, Me and a guy named Elvis by Jerry Schilling, Diamonds and dust by Sheryl McCorry and The definitive biography of Freddie Mercury: Bohemian Rhapsody by Lesley-Ann Jones.

A few new talking book titles are now available, and they include Little girl lost by Janet Gover, Maggie’s garden by Noelene Jenkinson, The three of is by Kim Lock and Overkill by Vanda Symon.

Some great new DVD titles are available for loan this week and they include Army dog, Firehouse dog, ParaNorman, Looney tunes back in action, Billy Frankenstein, Winx Club: the search for Eldora, Charlie a toy story, My little pony the movie, Daffy Duck’s quackbusters, Adventures in Zambezia, Lily more than puppy love, Angry birds toons, Welcome to ever after high, Mary Poppins returns, Second Act, Crazy heart, Monster in law and Rumour has it, Tim and The devil’s own.

A few new music CDs have been added to the collection over the past couple of months and they include A star is born soundtrack, The annual ministry of sound, So fresh the hits of spring 2018, So fresh the hits of summer 2019 and The Wiggles wiggly, wiggly Christmas.
