LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 6 May 2019

This week we have introduced a circus tent to the kid’s area for small children to play or read inside. There are also a couple of new magazine titles added this week with more to come.

The upcoming movies are South Pacific on Tuesday 7 May at 10am and Second Act on Saturday 11 May at 8pm. Seat bookings are preferred for the Saturday night and FOGL will be hosting the candy bar.

If you know of anyone aged 65 and over who would like to learn how to use a computer, online banking, online shopping, sharing photos, etc please let them know that we are running free classes. Bookings are required but they are free.

Library & Information Week is coming up in May and we will be hosting National Simultaneous Storytime on Wednesday 22 and the Biggest Morning Tea on Thursday 23. So please support your library by attending or donating.

A few new magazine titles are available for loan and they include Fishing & boating NSW, 4×4 Australia, Better homes and gardens, National Geographic kids, Australian traveller and new titles Australian Women’s Weekly food and On the road.

The latest kids’ books this week include Mu Mum’s the best by Rosie Smith, Thank you, Mummy by Kate Bucknell, City of glass; City of ashes and Clockwork angel by Cassandra Clare, Library of souls by ransom Riggs, The ANZAC puppy by Peter Millett, The bear went over the mountain by Louis Shea and Tortoise and the hair.

A number of new nonfiction titles are available, and they include Boony’s ashes by David Boon, Out of my comfort zone by Steve Waugh, Mixed blessings by Deborah Lee, The truth hurts by Wayne Carey, The time of my life by Patrick Swayze and Lisa Niemi, So far by Shannon Noll, Say it out load by Adam Sutton, Fair cop by Christine Nixon, True colours by Lisa Davies and Air kiss & tell by Charlotte Dawson.

The latest fiction titles are now available, and they include The hideaway by Sheila O’Flanagan, Australia Street by Ann whitehead, The rip by Mark Brandi, Tell me a secret by Jane Fallon, The Lily in the snow by Jackie French, The wedding guest by Jonathan Kellerman, The house next door; 18th abduction; The chef and The first lady by James Patterson and Widow’s revenge by Lynda La Plante.

Some great new DVD titles are available for loan this week and they include Spiderman: into the spider-verse, Andre Rieu, Unikitty: sparkle party, The Wiggles big ballet day, Mortal engines, Justin and the knights of valour, Freedom force, Roborex, K9 adventures: legend of the lost gold, Martian child, Power rangers, The adventures of Figaro Pho, The book of life and The amazing wizard of paws.

Saturday 11 May 7.45pm for an 8pm start. Free movie: Second Act. Seat bookings are preferred. FOGL will be running the candy bar.

Monday 13 May 10-12 in the Internet Centre. Introduction to cybersafety. Bookings are required but the class is free.

Wednesday 22 May 10.45am National Simultaneous Storytime.

Thursday 23 May 10.30am Biggest Morning Tea.
