LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 21 January 2019

The Summer reading bingo challenge is ending. All entries must be submitted to the Library by 5pm Thursday 24. Prize draw will be held Friday 25 at 10.30am. We have a couple of decorate your own pencil case sessions left with vacancies.

Tech Savvy Senior computer classes for people aged 65 and over will be held again this year with lots of new choices of topics. Classes will start in February and will be held in the Internet Centre on Monday’s between 10 and 12. Bookings are required and can be made via the Library. Classes are free to attend.

Preschool Storytime is returning in February. This year we will be holding two sessions per month during school terms on Wednesday and Friday at 10.30am. Our February sessions will be held on the 6 and 8.

The latest fiction titles include Arcadia by Di Morrissey, The three secret cities by Matthew Reilly, Sea prayer by Khaled Hosseini, Suitcase of dreams by Tania Blanchard, The lost man by Jane Harper, Lost without you by Rachael Johns, The helpline by Katherine Collette, The reckoning by John Grisham, Look alive 25 by Janet Evanovich and Dark sacred night by Michael Connelly.

There are some great new DVDs available this week and they include Kong King of Atlantis, Winx Club Bloomix begins, Winx Club believe in magic, Winx Club mythix fairies, Luis and the aliens, Hotel Transylvannia 3, Small foot, Christopher Robin, Paw Patrol: safety pups and Curious George: spooky fun.

Some great new Large Print titles are available this week and they include The taming of the Queen by Philippa Gregory, In the midst of winter by Isabel Allende, Night moves by Jonathan Kellerman, Crime scene by Jonathan Kellerman, One on one by Michael Brandman, Missing persons by Michael Brandman, Vicious circle by C. J. Box, After her by Joyce Maynard, After I’m gone by Laura Lippman and The adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Do you have a child starting Kindergarten next month? The library has some books to help explain school to your child plus some great other new books this week. Wednesday 23 January 11am – 12pm Decorate your own pencil case. Bookings required as limited places. $3 per child. For kids aged 5 and over.

Thursday 24 January entries for the summer reading bingo challenge must be submitted by 5pm to enter into the prize draw.

Friday 25 January 10.30am Prize draw.

Saturday 26 January. Australia Day. Please note that the Library will be closed.
