LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 10 December 2018

Its that time of year again where we are all running around attending to those pesky presents for our loved ones and those fantastic lunches or dinner. In amongst all this please remember that the Library is closing for 2018 on Saturday 22 December at midday and will reopen for 2019 at 10.30am on Wednesday 2 January.

The latest nonfiction titles this week include At home with Muhammad Ali by Hana Ali, Best foot forward by Adam Hills, The commando: the life and death of Cameron Baird VC, MG by Ben McKelvey, Hot pies, The barefoot investor for families by Scott Pape, Looking after your mental health, A day to remember by Jackie French, Family roasts, You are awesome by Matthew Syed, Candour: stories in the words of those who served 1914-18 and On Air by Mike Carlton.

There are some great fiction titles this week and they include Cedar Valley by Holly Throsby, Hippie by Paulo Coelho, Every breath by Nicholas Sparks, Lethal white by Robert Galbraith and Absolute proof by Peter James.

The latest kids’ books include Dingo: the dog who conquered a continent by Jackie French, The volcano challenge by Bear Grylls, 13 reasons why by Jay Asher, Ruthless romans, Measly middle ages, Incredible Incas and Groovy Greeks by Terry Deary, Zac Power and the sky files by H. I. Larry and The amber spyglass, The subtle knife and The golden compass by Philip Pullman.

There are some great new DVDs available this week and they include Go back to where you came from series 3, Girls just dance, Jurassic Park, Atlantic Rim Resurrection, Ocean’s eleven, Deadpool 2 and The yellow birds.

This week’s new magazine titles include NSW Fishing & boating, Central west lifestyle, National Geographic kids, Small farms, Grass roots, Double helix, Tech life, Marie Claire, R. M. Williams Outback, Country Style, Gardening Australia, Home Beautiful, Rea Living and Quarterly essay.

Upcoming events to keep in mind are:

Wednesday 12 December 10.30am Preschool Storytime for 3 to 5-year olds. Siblings welcomed. This is the last session for the year.

Friday 14 December from 3pm. Board games & Lego. Why not challenge a friend or two to a game? This is the last session for the year.

Saturday 15 December 10-11am Christmas Craft. $5 per child. Bookings and payment required. Limited places.

Friday 21 December 10.30-11.30am Christmas Craft. $5 per child. Bookings and payment required. Limited places.

Friday 21 December 2pm for a 2.15pm start – the original Miracle on 34th Street is on in the Cinema. Free for everyone. Bring your cushions or bean bags and enjoy the original. FOGL will be hosting the Candy bar.
