LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 13 August 2018

Book Week is coming up again. Are you prepared for the school book parade? We will be hosting two preschool storytime sessions this year. Why not join us on either Wednesday 22 or Friday 24 August at 10.30am.

Who do you think will win book of the year? Will it be The sloth who came to stay by Margaret Wild or will A walk in the bush by Gwyn Perkins take out a prize? All of the shortlisted books are on display in the library and will be available for loan at the completion of Book Week.

The latest nonfiction books include The Australian watercolour institute by Peter Pinson, The essence of you and me by Kada & Barney Miller, Theft by finding diaries by David Sedaris, Unmasked by Turia Pitt, Dying for a cure by Rebekah Beddoe, Sold by Tess Stevens, The prince boofhead syndrome by Michael Carr-Gregg, The princess bitchface syndrome 2.0 by Michael Carr-Gregg, Meghan a Hollywood princess by Andrew Morton, Coding for kids 1 and Step by Step watercolour painting.

Some great new kids’ books are now ready for loan and they include The BFG by Roald Dahl, The last battle, The horse and his boy, The Lion, the Witch and the wardrobe by CS Lewis, Doctor Dolittle’s magical cure by Hugh Lofting, Snow, Ice, Glaciers, Arctic animals by Melvin Berger and Upstream by Barmera Primary School.

This week’s DVD titles include MythBusters season 1 and 2, Food investigators, Treasures of the Trust: National Trust gardens, Frontier Wars collector’s set volumes 1 -4, David Attenborough’s conquest of the skies, Mr Selfridge season one, Secret City season one, Hangman and Midsomer murders season 5 and 7.

For the fiction readers we have Goodbye to all cats by PG Wodehouse, Win, lose or draw by Peter Corris, The light between oceans by ML Stedman, Norse mythology by Neil Gaiman and Hangman by Daniel Cole.

The most recent magazine titles that are ready for loan include House & Garden, Life begins at…, Country Style, Gardening Australia, Choice and Diabetic Living.
