LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 16 July 2018

School holiday activities are continuing this week with Board games & Lego on today from 10.30am and a colouring session on Friday between 10.30 and 11.30am.

Congratulations to our Tech Savvy Senior graduates. Our graduates completed classes in Introduction to computers, internet, email, social media, online banking and cybersafety.

For those who could not attend the morning tea please drop in and collect your certificate. Funding has been applied for to enable classes to continue.

FOGL is a group of Grenfell residents who conduct, or assist in conducting, functions, social gatherings and other activities associated with the Library, assist and encourage development of the Grenfell Library, encourage appreciation of the Library and its value to all sections of the community and help raise funds for the furtherance of the above objects. Past events include raffles, street stalls, the Senior’s morning tea, puppet shows and author visits. They meet in the Library at 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month between February and October. Membership is open to all members of the community. So, if you are interested in meeting this lovely group, helping or have some new ideas why not come down to the next meeting which is Tuesday 24 July at 7pm. We look forward to meeting you.

Preschool storytime is back next week on Wednesday 25 July at 10.30am for 3 to 5 year old’s. Come and join us for stories and craft.

The latest nonfiction books include Family Circle best ever Christmas, How community gardens work, Outdoor maker lab by Robert Winston, Anxiety & depression, Origami fun: birds, Kings of the ocean by Jody Rake, The quiltmakers: eight workshops from the very best, Basics to brilliance by Donna Hay, The Australian Women’s Weekly everyday vegetarian and Gluten free.

Some great new kids’ books are now ready for loan and they include The worlds worst children by David Walliams, Alice-Miranda takes the lead, Kensey and Max, Alice-Miranda at sea and Alice-Miranda in Paris by Jacqueline Harvey, Sun on the stubble by Colin Thiele, The furball strikes back by Aaron Blabey, The treehouse fun book 3 by Jill Griffiths, Frankie fish and the great wall of chaos by Peter Helliar and Doctor Strange: mystery of the dark magic.

The most recent magazine titles that are ready for loan include Country Style, Backyard, Taste, Choice Computer and Choice.

Upcoming events to keep in mind are: 

Wednesday 18 July from 10.30am. Board games & Lego. Round up your friends and come challenge them to a game or 2.

Friday 20 July 10.30-11.30am. Kids colouring session. No age limit and no bookings required.

Tuesday 24 July 6.45pm for a 7pm start. Friends of the Grenfell Library meeting at 7pm.
