LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 18 June 2018

The Friends of Grenfell Library (FOGL) is a group of Grenfell residents who conduct, or assist in conducting, functions, social gatherings and other activities associated with the Library, assist and encourage development of the Grenfell Library, encourage appreciation of the Library and its value to all sections of the community and help raise funds for the furtherance of the above objects. Past events include raffles, street stalls, the Senior’s morning tea, puppet shows and author visits. They meet in the Library at 7pm on the fourth Tuesday of the month between February and October. Membership is open to all members of the community. So, if you are interested in meeting this lovely group, helping out or have some new ideas why not come down to the next meeting which is Tuesday 26 June at 7pm. We look forward to meeting you.

There are some great new magazine titles that are available for loan. They include National Geographic Kids, Diabetic living, Tech life, Gardening Australia and Quarterly Essay.

The latest nonfiction books include Dead inside by Cyndy Etler, The boys in the boat by Daniel James Brown, Hell and highwater by Rochelle Nicholls, The food of India, Curiosity: stories of those who report during wartime, The Australian Women’s Weekly new salads, The Usborne complete book of riding and pony care, Shakespeare by Bill Bryson, At home by Bill Bryson and One summer America 1927 by Bill Bryson.

A couple of great new Large Print title this week include The Armageddon file by Stephen Coonts and Robicheaux by James Lee Burke.

Some great new kids’ books are now ready for loan and they include ck words, Double trouble, Eggs, Under the leaf, My body, Jo’s boys and Good wives by Louisa May Alcott, Friday Barnes: Bitter enemies and The plot thickens by R.A. Spratt and Playing Beatie Bow by Ruth Park.

The latest talking books include Time of death by Mark Billingham, The tomb in Turkey by Simon Brett, Blood on snow and Midnight sun by Jo Nesbo, Private down under by James Patterson.

Friday 22 June from 3pm Board games & Lego.

Monday 25 June 10-12 in the Internet Centre. Introduction to cybersafety and online banking. Bookings required.

Tuesday 26 June 7pm The Friends of Grenfell Library (FOGL) June meeting and AGM.
