LIBRARY LINES for week beginning 11 December 2017

Reminder that the Library will be closed from midday on Saturday 23 December until 10.30 am Tuesday 2 January. So please come on down and ensure that you have your reading materials and DVDs for the week. All due dates will skip across this week so don’t worry about having to return them, but the after-hours chute will be available at the front of the building if you need to return them. If you will be away longer than the usual three weeks over the summer, please let me know and I can adjust your loan period upfront.

This week’s new magazine titles include Gardening Australia, Better Homes and Gardens, Diabetic Living, Choice, 4×4 Australia, National Geographic Kids, Small farms and the new title for kids aged 8 – 13 from the CSIRO, Double Helix.

New fiction titles include Along country roads and Country at heart by Mandy Magro, A long way from home by Peter Carey, To love, honour and betray by J Mary Masters and War clouds gather by Peter Watt.

The latest large print titles include Colter’s quest and The killing days by Neil Hunter, Land of strangers by Ray Hogan, The good badman by Max Brand, Toots McGee by J.W. Throgmorton, Dead man draw by Walt Keene, Six feet four by Jackson Gregory, Beyond fort mims by Lauran Paine, The plainsman by Steve Hayes & Ben Bridges, Mesquite Johnny by Barry Cord, Doniphan’s thousand by Les Savage Jr and Ruthless men by Corba Sunman.

Have you registered for the Summer Reading Club? If not pop on down to the library, fill in a rego form, collect your reading pack and start reading.

Upcoming events to keep in mind are:

Friday 15 December 11 – 12 am the Community Nurse is holding a pool safety session for all parents and carers with children aged from birth to 5 years old. For those who make a booking a gift will be provided.

Tuesday 19 December 4 – 4.45 pm for those aged 7 and over there will be Christmas craft. Bookings required as places are limited to ten per session. One session per child due to the limited places. Bookings commence for this session from Friday 8 December.

Friday 5 January 10.30am – 12 noon Board games and Lego. No bookings required.

Friday 19 January until Friday 2 February 2018, the Library will be hosting the May Gibbs traveling exhibition. This is a magnificent exhibition celebrating the work of May Gibbs. During this time there will also be some craft activities so keep an eye out for dates and times.
