Library Lines for week beginning 6 November 2017

The Friends of Grenfell Library AGM was held on Tuesday 24 October. I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you to the outgoing executive committee for their tireless effort in supporting the Library. I would like to take this moment to welcome the incoming executive committee and the members for 2017/18 and the upcoming events for 2018. For those wishing to join FOGL our next meeting will be held in the Library on Tuesday 27 February at 2pm.

For those about to start harvest have you thought about dropping in and grabbing your talking books to listen to while driving. There are a great number of titles and there are the MP3 versions as well. Plus, the eAudiobooks on BorrowBox.

Magazine titles for this week include Techlife, Choice, National Geographic Kids, Australian Geographic, NSW Fishing & Boating, Australian Traveller, The Wanderer, Country Style, 4×4 Australia and Vogue.

For our movie fans we have the following new DVD titles The Royal Tenenbaums, Indian Jones and the raiders of the lost ark, Despicable Me 3, The Great Wall, Thelma & Louise, Robots, The Durrells season 1, The Doctor Blake mysteries seasons 1 -4, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 & 2 and Catching fire, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Alvin and the Chipmunks: the squeakquel and Alvin and the Chipmunks 3: chipwrecked.

New fiction titles include The accidental bride by Denise Hunter, Detective Cross and Deadly cargo by James Patterson, One little mistake by Emma Curtis, Time of death by Mark Billingham, American assassin by Vince Flynn, The telephone girls by Jenny Holmes

For the kids we have The beach at night by Elena Ferrante, Tell it to the moon by Siobhan Curham, Wintersmith, The shepherd’s crown, I shall wear midnight, A hat full of sky by Terry Pratchett, Saurex the silent creeper and Vislak the slithering serpent by Adam Blade, Charlie and the chocolate factory by Roald Dahl and Ballet school: Peter and the wolf by Fiona Macdonald.

Keep an eye out for an upcoming Christmas craft event at the library including The Summer Reading Club from December 1.
